A branch of HSBC in Hong Kong was robbed by armed thieves who took away over 300,000 Hong Kong dollars. A female employee was injured.

On June 2nd, a robbery occurred at the Shatin City branch of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Hong Kong. A robber threatened bank staff with a knife and stole over 300,000 Hong Kong dollars and some foreign currency before fleeing the scene. It was reported that one staff member suffered minor injuries to the neck and was treated at the hospital before being discharged. Around 5 p.m. on the same day, the police received a report from the HSBC Shatin City branch about a man entering the bank alone, sitting for about 15 minutes, then suddenly taking out a knife to threaten a female bank staff member and rob the money before fleeing. HSBC stated that the injured staff member has been discharged and both customers and employees are safe. HSBC will continue to communicate with the injured colleague, follow up on their needs, and provide various forms of support. Additionally, HSBC will fully cooperate with the investigation by the police. According to the Hong Kong police, the case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Team 7 of the Shatin Police District.
