JPMorgan Chase CEO: Increasing US debt may trigger bond market turbulence.
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, said on Monday that the continuously rising U.S. debt is a "major issue" and could bring "difficult times" to the bond market, leading to an increase in spreads. This comment is consistent with his earlier warnings of potential market turbulence due to increased government spending in the United States. "If people no longer see the dollar as a reliable choice, you may see credit spreads widen; that will be a significant problem," Dimon said. "This will affect investors, including small businesses, small business loans, high-yield debt, leveraged loans, and real estate loans. Therefore, we should be concerned about volatility in the bond market."
