Emirates plans to continue operating its Airbus A380 fleet until the end of the next decade and will carry out a final upgrade of the first class cabin before retiring the aircraft. Due to concerns about the durability of the Airbus A350-1000 engines and the delayed delivery of the Boeing 777X, Emirates lacks a clear alternative aircraft type and is therefore investing billions of dollars in refurbishing its A380 fleet to extend its lifespan. The refurbished A380 will feature a four-class layout including first class, business class, premium economy class, and economy class with luxurious amenities such as enclosed cabins and shower suites in first class, as well as a public bar on the upper deck.
