This year, the sales of consumer goods for old-for-new transactions have exceeded 1 trillion yuan.

Reporters learned from the Ministry of Commerce that as of now, the sales of consumer goods under the "trade-in old for new" policy has exceeded 1 trillion yuan this year. Since the beginning of the year, the "trade-in old for new" policy for consumer goods has effectively driven the continuous recovery and improvement of consumption. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, as of May 31, the sales generated by the top 5 categories of consumer goods under the "trade-in old for new" policy have reached 1.1 trillion yuan, with approximately 175 million subsidies directly distributed to consumers. Among them, the number of applications for subsidies for trading in old cars reached 4.12 million; 49.863 million consumers purchased 77.618 million units of 12 major categories of household appliances; 53.529 million consumers purchased 56.629 million units of mobile phones and other digital products; 6.5 million electric bicycles were traded in for new ones; and 57.626 million orders were placed for home improvement and kitchen and bathroom renovation.
