Guatemala discovers ancient Mayan city ruins dating back over 2800 years.
According to Guatemalan media reports on May 30th, the Ministry of Culture of Guatemala announced the discovery of the ruins of a Mayan city over 2800 years old in an archaeological site in the northern part of the country. The Guatemalan Ministry of Culture stated that the site covers an area of about 16 square kilometers and may be one of the oldest and most important ceremonial centers of the Mayan civilization period, helping people to better understand the social organization of that time.
