National carbon market prices continue to decline, already falling by more than 30% from the highest price.
According to the statistics from the Research Center for Sustainable Development at Fudan University, the national average closing price of carbon emissions quotas in May was 70.30 yuan/ton, a decrease of about 13% compared to the average closing price of 80.87 yuan/ton in April. At the same time, the carbon price in May showed a downward fluctuating trend, gradually decreasing from 71.35 yuan/ton at the beginning of the month to the lowest price of 67.91 yuan/ton in the middle of the month. By the end of May, the national carbon emissions quotas had dropped by 35% from the historical high price of 106.02 yuan/ton in November last year, with a decrease of about 30% just this year.
