The head of the National Defense University delegation attended a special meeting and criticized certain countries without naming them.
On the afternoon of the 31st, Hu Gangfeng, Vice President and Director of Education of the National Defense University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, attended the third thematic session of the Shangri-La Dialogue on "Maritime Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region" and delivered a speech. Hu Gangfeng stated that the overall maritime security situation in the region is stable, and there have been no military conflicts at sea in the Asia-Pacific region for many years, making it a stable pillar in the global landscape. Hu Gangfeng also mentioned that the South China Sea has always been the safest and busiest sea area for global navigation. However, maritime security in the Asia-Pacific region also faces serious challenges. Some countries are irresponsibly promoting the establishment of exclusionary and confrontational small circles, significantly increasing military presence, frequently infringing on the territorial sovereignty and maritime rights of other countries in the name of so-called freedom of navigation, and deliberately supporting the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, seriously undermining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. Maritime security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region is facing severe challenges and there is no room for retreat.
