The French Ministry of Labor, Health, Solidarity and Family Affairs announced in a press release on the 30th that starting from July 1st this year, the country will ban smoking in various outdoor public places in order to protect young people and achieve the goal of a "smoke-free generation." The French government has stipulated that the following places will be prohibited from smoking during operating hours or when open starting July 1st: parks and public gardens; beaches where swimming is permitted; bus shelters and covered passenger waiting areas; areas near schools and other places used for receiving, training, or accommodating minors; open spaces of libraries, swimming pools, sports fields and sports facilities, and their surrounding areas. In addition, the government will also take other measures, including reducing the allowable nicotine content in tobacco and e-cigarette products to reduce addiction at the source; from 2026, strict restrictions will be imposed on e-cigarette flavors to reduce their appeal to young people.
