On Friday local time, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Johnson, posted on X to thank Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his contributions to the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) and shared a photo of him with Musk and US President Trump on a plane. Johnson wrote in the tweet, "Elon, thank you for your selfless dedication to America. Elon and the DOGE team have exposed massive waste, fraud, and abuse within the US bureaucracy. They have saved billions of dollars for the American people and are modernizing the outdated and inefficient systems of the federal government. They have also provided a meaningless list of projects for the Republican Party to take action on in Congress." Johnson also stated that DOGE has done excellent work and will continue to meet the demands of improving government efficiency. The House of Representatives is eager to take action based on its investigation results. Congress is working with the White House to incorporate the funds saved by DOGE into legislation to prevent government misuse and waste of taxpayers' money." Musk later retweeted this tweet.
