According to a report by the Russian news agency Sputnik on May 29th, the Chief of the Indian Air Force Singh harshly criticized the country's aviation manufacturing industry at the annual business summit organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry, stating that the implementation of large national defense projects in India has not been carried out as scheduled. This includes delays in the delivery of fighter jets, including the domestically produced "Tejas" aircraft. Singh pointed out that under a contract worth 480 billion rupees signed in 2021 with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Indian Ministry of Defense has not received any of the 83 "Tejas" fighter jets that were ordered.
