Maritime Silk Road Index: Strong demand leads to freight rate increase. Comprehensive index sees significant rise this week.

This week, the Ningbo Shipping Exchange released the Ningbo Export Container Freight Index of the Maritime Silk Road at 1676.2 points, up 51.5% from last week. Out of 21 routes, 18 routes saw an increase in freight index, 2 routes saw a decrease, and 1 route remained relatively stable. Among the main ports along the "Maritime Silk Road", the freight index of 16 ports increased. The freight index for the European route was 1067.6 points, up 36.2% from last week; for the East Asian route, it was 1605.0 points, up 59.9%; for the West Asian route, it was 2062.4 points, up 54.2%. The freight index for the US East Coast route was 2490.0 points, up 69.7% from last week; for the US West Coast route, it was 3585.2 points, up 89.2%. The freight index for the Middle East route was 1588.6 points, up 42.0% from last week.
