"Ban" on secondary fattening has come? Some pig companies respond: do not encourage selling "secondary fattening"
This morning, the pork sector saw an unusual sharp rise. According to market news, "yesterday, relevant departments held a meeting, revealing key information to guide the pig industry, including not increasing the number of mother pigs, reducing the weight of fattening pigs to 120KG, and discouraging the sale of second-time breeders." In response, reporters contacted multiple listed pig companies to verify the accuracy of the news. A person related to a pig company told Pengpai News, "It's true, no more selling of second-time breeders, it's a requirement for all groups." Another person in charge of a pig company told reporters, "It's true, many companies participated. The pig prices are not good, so we are not prepared to push them up. We have always advocated against uncontrolled expansion and low-price competition, striving for high-quality development." The person mentioned above also said that from a macro control perspective, after the pens are pressed and the second-stage fattening pigs are slaughtered in a concentrated manner, it will disrupt market price expectations and rhythms. "Second-stage breeders in the market tend to cause disorderly slaughter and price out of control, as well as breed unethical behavior. In addition, there is indeed a need to reduce production capacity, oppose overcapacity, and govern to control excess capacity."
