"Ban on the export of engines, the US targets China's production of large airplanes"
According to a report by The New York Times on the 28th, the United States has temporarily suspended the sale of some key technologies to China, including technology related to jet engines. The report stated that this move is targeted at the Chinese commercial aircraft manufacturer, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), which is competing with the dominant aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing. The New York Times quoted an insider as saying that the U.S. Department of Commerce has suspended some licenses that allowed U.S. companies to sell products and technologies to COMAC for the development of the C919 aircraft. According to Reuters, the U.S. Department of Commerce confirmed in a statement that it is reviewing exports to China that have strategic significance. The report mentioned that a spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in the United States strongly opposes the U.S. abuse of national security concepts, export controls, and maliciously blocking and suppressing China.
