Mainland China and Hong Kong have signed two documents on civil aviation exchange and cooperation, reaching multiple collaboration arrangements.

On May 26th, the director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Song Zhiyong, met with the director of the Civil Aviation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Liu Zhiyong, and the president of the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy, Li Tianzhu, in Beijing. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on leveraging their respective advantages to integrate into the national development, jointly maintaining high-level safety, promoting high-quality development, and further deepening and implementing cooperation. After the meeting, the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department signed an "Intention Letter on Strengthening Technical Exchange and Cooperation in Civil Aviation Safety Supervision". The Civil Aviation Science and Technology Research Institute and the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department signed an "Arrangement on Enhancing Cooperation in Civil Aviation Science and Technology". The Civil Aviation Flight Academy and the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy reached a cooperation arrangement on training apprentice pilots, and together obtained the qualification of a flight training institution approved by CAD509 issued by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department. The Air Traffic Control Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, and the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy reached updated arrangements on further strengthening air traffic control cooperation, improving operational efficiency, and promoting integrated development.
