According to the report by Korean Central News Agency today, North Korean judicial authorities have summoned and detained Lee Hyeong-seon, deputy minister of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, who holds "great responsibility" for the "major accident" of the newly built destroyer being launched. The report stated that, under the technical guidance of an expert team, the relevant parties are conducting comprehensive repairs to restore the balance of the accident destroyer as planned. According to previous reports by the Korean Central News Agency, a "major accident" occurred during the launching ceremony of a newly built 5000-ton destroyer at the Sinpo Shipyard in North Korea on May 21. North Korea subsequently formed an investigation team to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident. Hong Ji-ho, director of the Sinpo Shipyard, and chief engineer Kang Jung-zhe and four others have been summoned or detained by judicial authorities.
