Spot gold just fell below the $3340.00 per ounce mark, with the latest price at $3339.96 per ounce, down 0.59% on the day; COMEX gold futures main contract is currently at $3338.30 per ounce, down 0.82% on the day. Earlier, US President Trump said on Sunday that he agreed to postpone imposing new tariffs on the European Union after a phone call with EU Commission President von der Leyen. This news may have weakened the safe-haven demand for gold.
