NIO ET7 caught fire at a charging station by other brands of cars. Official report states that no one was injured.
NIO released a statement on "Regarding the incident of NIO vehicles being ignited by vehicles of other brands in Suzhou." NIO stated that around 17:40 on May 24, a NIO ES6 and a NIO ET7 were parked at a third-party charging station in Suzhou Industrial Park when a overheated vehicle of another brand ignited them. There were no injuries reported at the scene. After the NIO vehicles were ignited, they immediately sent out a backend alert, and NIO staff rushed to the scene to deal with the situation. NIO will assist the users in handling insurance claims and communicate with them regarding repurchasing the vehicles.
