On May 23rd local time, Hungarian Prime Minister Orban met with visiting member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, Chen Wenqing in Budapest. Chen Wenqing stated that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Hungary relations have been elevated to a new level of all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, and are at the best period in history, ushering in broad prospects for development. China firmly supports Hungary in upholding independence and exploring development paths that suit its national conditions, supporting Hungary in safeguarding national sovereignty and security, and opposing external interference. China is willing to work with Hungary to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, deepen high-level political mutual trust, expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as economy and trade, law enforcement security, and justice, ensure a good business environment for enterprises and the safety of people's lives and property, continue to play a leading role in promoting high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road" and cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, and promote the steady and far-reaching development of China-EU relations. Orban stated that President Xi Jinping's historic and successful visit to Hungary in May last year laid a solid foundation for the deepening of relations and cooperation in various fields between the two countries. Hungary will continue to deepen cooperation with China in various fields such as economy and trade, law enforcement security, to safeguard common interests and better benefit the people of both countries.
