On May 23rd, the Ministry of Natural Resources held a video conference to deploy geological disaster prevention work during the "dragon boat water" period. The meeting emphasized the need to address the severe and complex disaster prevention situation during the "dragon boat water" period, adhere to a problem-oriented approach, focus on grassroots areas, strengthen a prevention-oriented strategy, and prevent disasters early and effectively. Leaders of natural resource departments at all levels should conduct on-site research in disaster prevention, strengthen supervision and guidance, and ensure that disaster prevention responsibilities, emergency plans, and prevention measures are implemented at the smallest unit. During periods of heavy rainfall and geological disaster risk warnings, teams should be dispatched to areas within their jurisdiction that have heavy geological disaster prevention tasks or high risks, provide on-site guidance, and strengthen the "stationing in counties, covering townships" mechanism. Specialized teams stationed for disaster prevention should be incorporated into the local geological disaster prevention system. Experts from the provincial geological survey bureau and mobile defense experts should be fully deployed to conduct risk inspections in risk and warning areas, monitor warnings, provide technical support for disaster avoidance, and handle major disasters and risks in cooperation with experts from provinces and cities.
