China Automobile Dealers Association: In October, the residual value rates of vehicles across all segments declined overall, with the SUV segment showing a particularly notable decline.
Zhitong Finance APP has learned that on November 2, the China Automobile Dealers Association and Jingzhengu jointly released the October 2026 China Automobile Retention Rate Report. In October, retention rates across all segments declined, ending last month's trend of slight rebounds in most segments. Judging from the retention rate trends over the past two months, September's improvement has not yet formed stable support, and used-car values are still adjusting. This month's decline was particularly pronounced in the SUV segment, while changes across sedan segments were relatively small. The retention rates for mid-to-large SUVs and MPVs remain at relatively high levels, but both posted pullbacks this month. A higher retention rate represents a relative value advantage, but does not mean greater resilience in the short term.
