Spanish Prime Minister: Comprehensively strengthen railway safety to prevent similar disasters from happening again.
On the 29th local time, in response to the high-speed rail collision that occurred in the province of Toledo, Spain, Spanish Prime Minister Snchez stated publicly after attending a meeting of the integrated emergency coordination center that the government will take resolute action to comprehensively strengthen safety protection measures across the railway network and make every effort to prevent such tragedies from happening again. Snchez stressed that it is absolutely intolerable for major railway safety accidents to occur in succession within a short period of time. He pointed out that as the in-depth investigation of the causes of the accident and the judicial investigation proceed, the authorities will not only thoroughly investigate responsibility at every stage, but will also begin with multiple dimensions including system maintenance, signal monitoring, and dispatch procedures to carry out emergency upgrades and strict reinforcement of safety compliance standards across the national high-speed railway network.
