Supreme People's Court: Trial of Civil and Commercial Cases

Today, the Supreme People's Court released the main data on judicial trial work for the first three quarters of 2026. People's courts have adhered to justice for the people, firmly established the awareness of "putting myself in the litigant's shoes," heard various civil and commercial cases in accordance with the law in a fair and efficient manner, focused on resolving the urgent, difficult, and anxiety-ridden problems of ordinary people, and served and safeguarded the overall situation of economic and social development. A total of 18.6676 million first-instance civil and commercial cases were accepted, a year-on-year decrease of 1.49%. A total of 564,100 first-instance cases involving disputes over construction project contracts were accepted, a year-on-year decrease of 7.38%.
