Nvidia (NVDA.O) announced it will provide $250 million worth of computing resources to the UK over the next five years to support AI safety research and help Britain establish itself as a global hub for AI governance and safety research. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Wednesday that the UK will receive $50 million worth of accelerated computing resources annually, specifically dedicated to AI agent safety testing, helping British researchers build more robust safety guardrails for increasingly powerful AI systems. Although the UK does not have major AI model developers, it is seeking to play a global leadership role in AI risk assessment and governance. Among these efforts, the UK AI Security Institute is one of the world's earliest government-backed bodies, primarily responsible for assessing the potential risks posed by advanced AI technologies.
