On October 9, Yui Torikata, Chief Analyst of Crude Oil Market Data at Kpler, a global energy and shipping data analytics firm, said in an interview with reporters that the Strait of Hormuz is not currently completely closed, but is "still open, yet in an extremely high-risk navigational state." Yui Torikata revealed that the latest preliminary data show that at least 10 commercial oil tankers and dry bulk vessels pass through the strait on average every day.
