Polling stations across Brazil closed at 5 p.m. local time, and vote counting for the general election should begin soon. Brazilian voters went to the polls on Sunday to elect a new president, as well as governors for 26 states and one federal district, 54 of the Senate's 81 members, all 513 members of the Chamber of Deputies, and about 1,000 state and district legislators.
