During the National Day Golden Week, a strong festive atmosphere prevailed across Hong Kong. Financial Secretary Paul Chan said that in the first three days of the Golden Week, more than 732,000 mainland visitor arrivals were recorded, up about 8.4% year on year. The Immigration Department estimated that about 1.29 million mainland visitors would visit Hong Kong during the entire Golden Week, with the daily average rising more than 5% year on year. Apart from mainland visitors, the number of visitors from Europe, the United States and some emerging markets has also recorded considerable growth so far this year.
