On October 4 local time, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and Chairman of United Russia, posted a warning on his personal social media account urging the United States not to "block" Russia's "Rassvet" low-orbit satellite communications system at Ukraine's request. Medvedev said, "Such a move would lead to an all-out space war. U.S. low-orbit 'Starlink' satellites will come falling down one after another." It is reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said in an interview with the British Financial Times that he had repeatedly asked U.S. President Trump to block the Russian version of "Starlink" the "Rassvet" low-orbit satellite communications system and to sanction companies involved in the project. Within Russia, the use of "Starlink" is banned. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in June that Russia had begun deploying a low-orbit satellite system similar to "Starlink."
