Today, traffic volume on highways nationwide is 62 million to 64 million vehicle trips, with travel mainly over short and medium distances, and both major trunk corridors and road sections around scenic areas are under pressure in both directions. In civil aviation, airlines nationwide are expected to transport 2.25 million passengers today, with 18,019 flights expected to be operated. Several airlines are adding frequencies between popular tourist cities and increasing the deployment of wide-body aircraft to meet passenger travel demand. In water transport, passenger volume today is expected to reach 2.1 million, up 9.1 percent year on year. With tourist and family-visit passenger flows overlapping, passenger volume continues to rise.
