Bank of Ghana Governor: Will promote local currency settlement in trade with China

Governor of the Bank of Ghana Johnson Asiama said on the 24th that Ghana will cooperate with China to promote the elimination of third-party currency settlement in trade transactions between the two countries. Speaking at a monetary policy committee press conference held on the evening of the same day, Asiama said that traders hope to make full use of China's zero-tariff policy fully implemented for 53 African countries that have diplomatic relations with China, and that this key shift is crucial to strengthening bilateral trade between Ghana and China.
