Thursday in late New York trading, the dollar rose 0.37% against the yen to 158.92 yen, with an intraday trading range of 157.80-159.04 yen, approaching the September 2 high of 160.39 yen during the early U.S. stock session. On the daily chart, since falling to 152.89 yen on September 8, it has rebounded a cumulative 4%. The euro rose 0.29% against the yen, the pound rose 0.18% against the yen, and the yen fell 0.34% against the offshore yuan.

French President Macron stated that France will send military forces and defensive equipment to the Saudi Red Sea port of Yanbu to protect local oil facilities.
