In the first seven months of this year, applications for tax refunds upon departure in Guangdong increased by 6.4 times, with electronic products and clothing becoming popular items.

According to the reporter from the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs, from January to July, customs in Guangdong Province processed a total of 186,000 departure tax refund applications, with the total amount verified reaching 1.69 billion yuan, marking an increase of 6.4 times and 1.2 times year-on-year, respectively. Electronic products and clothing have become the popular items for travelers applying for departure tax refunds. The Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs stated that the next step will be to further optimize customs clearance services, strengthen inter-departmental collaboration, and enhance the convenience of processing departure tax refunds.
