Japan's economy unexpectedly "hit the brakes"! In the second quarter, GDP only increased by 1.1%, while the 10-year Japanese government bond yield surged to a 30-year high.
According to the Zhihua Finance App, Japan's capital expenditure continues to be sluggish due to uncertainty caused by geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East. Economic growth unexpectedly slowed in Japan for the three months ending in June, which may complicate the Japan Central Bank's policy communication when considering the timing of the next interest rate hike. Data released by the Cabinet Office of Japan on Monday indicates that the actual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the second quarter grew at an annualized rate of 1.1%. This growth rate is significantly lower than the revised 1.9% of the previous quarter and also falls short of the 2% annualized rate forecasted by economists in Japan. Nonetheless, it still marks the third consecutive quarter of economic expansion for Japan.
