The index saw a significant drop in the afternoon, with the ChiNext Index turning negative after rising over 2% earlier in the day. The Shanghai Composite Index and Shenzhen Component Index both fell by more than 0.3%, with nearly 4,100 stocks declining across the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets.
