The Xikang High-speed Railway has started trial operations today.

Today, the joint debugging and testing of the Xikan High-speed Railway has been successfully completed, officially entering the trial operation phase. The Xikan High-speed Railway is an important component of the national medium- and long-term railway network planning's "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" high-speed rail corridor, specifically the Bao-Hai and Beijing-Kunming corridors. The newly built mainline is approximately 171 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Once operational, the travel time from Xi'an to Ankang will be reduced from the current approximately 3 hours to less than 1 hour, accelerating the formation of a "one-hour economic circle" between Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi. This will effectively enhance the level of passenger and freight transport services in the areas along the line, injecting new momentum into the rural revitalization of the Qinba Mountains and promoting local economic development.
