Context Awareness Increases Holdings in Japan's Tokyo Electron
According to several documents submitted by the nearly bankrupt artificial intelligence hedge fund Situational Awareness last month, the company purchased shares of the Japanese server component manufacturer Taiyo Yuden in late June, subsequently increasing its stake to 11.62%. On Wednesday, Taiyo Yuden's stock price rose by as much as 6.7%, following the fund's notification to the Japanese Ministry of Finance that it held more than 5% of the company, more than a month later than the disclosure deadline set by financial regulators. Subsequent documents submitted within a few hours indicated that the fund continued to increase its stake before mid-July. A representative of Taiyo Yuden did not immediately comment on the holding status of Situational Awareness.
