Preventing Diseases Such as Dengue Fever and Monkeypox: Chinese CDC Issues Health Risk Alert

The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention warns that in August, attention should be paid to mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika virus disease, as well as Ebola virus disease, fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome, monkeypox, food poisoning, heat-related illnesses, and public health risks arising from flooding disasters. Everyone is reminded to avoid mosquito bites, to minimize travel to countries and regions at risk of Ebola virus outbreaks, and to enhance awareness of seeking medical treatment proactively. Additionally, August marks the peak of the rainy season in our country, making flooding disasters more likely. To reduce the incidence of diseases during flooding disasters, the Center advises individuals in inundated areas to pay attention to food and water safety, environmental and personal hygiene, and to effectively control vector organisms.
