Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei stated on social media on the 10th that U.S. Treasury Secretary Bivens is advocating the use of economic sanctions to "strangle" Iran, highlighting America's "pathological dependence" on sanctions. Baghaei pointed out that whenever the U.S. fails to push diplomatic mediation, it resorts to sanctions, and if those sanctions do not work, it escalates them further. "This has become not just a 'policy,' but has formed a 'habit,' turning sanctions into an 'addiction' that has caused the U.S. to lose its own rational thinking." Baghaei also mentioned that Iran will not be bound by such remarks. If the U.S. continues to indulge in this "bad habit," it will undermine its chances of escaping the crisis it has created itself.
