The typhoon "White Dolphin" has made landfall on the Zhejiang coast. The National Defense Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management continue to hold discussions and deploy measures for prevention and response.
On August 9, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a joint consultation with departments including the China Meteorological Administration, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Ministry of Transport, as well as key provinces such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Anhui, to assess the development trend of Typhoon "White Dolphin" and deploy prevention and response measures. Typhoon "White Dolphin" made landfall along the Zhejiang coast twice on the evening of the 9th. The consultation pointed out that during the typhoon's landfall, strong winds and heavy rain posed severe challenges for risk management near the coast and the safety of sea dikes and sluices. Urban flooding, mountain torrents, and geological disasters may occur frequently, and its residual circulation may combine with the cold vortex in the north, bringing rainfall to North China, the Shandong Peninsula, and even Northeast China, making the situation for flood control and typhoon prevention severe and complex.
