The International Business Professional Committee of the China Securities Association held a chair meeting on August 3 in Beijing. The meeting focused on the goal of accelerating the construction of first-class investment banks and investment institutions with Chinese characteristics, and reported on the phased progress made in the first half of the year regarding key works promoted by the committee, such as "data cross-border" and "funds cross-border." It centralized discussions on a series of key research directions for the second half of the year, including development paths and models of international large comprehensive investment banks, development of international boutique investment banks and specialty service providers, overseas investment banks' internationalization strategies and management models, functional roles of overseas securities companies, regulatory systems for international securities operating institutions, and how securities companies can leverage pilot free trade zones to achieve high-quality development. Moving forward, the committee, with the support and guidance of regulatory authorities, will be guided by the spirit of the "14th Five-Year Plan" to continuously and deeply implement the relevant work arrangements for "promoting the acceleration of building first-class investment banks and investment institutions with Chinese characteristics," to generate high-quality industry research results and policy recommendations, transform from "identifying problems" to "solving problems," effectively addressing challenges and delivering practical outcomes for the industry, and pushing the internationalization of the securities industry to a new level.
