The U.S. Treasury Department lifts sanctions related to Baghdad Airlines.

On August 5 local time, according to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control, the U.S. removed Baghdad Airlines from the "Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List" and lifted the related sanctions on two Boeing 737 aircraft owned by the company. Previously, Baghdad Airlines had been sanctioned for alleged connections to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force.
