Guangxi: Accelerating the Old-for-New Policy to Boost Smart Appliance Consumption
With national subsidies combined with local expansion policies taking effect, and coinciding with the peak summer consumption season, the home appliance market in Guangxi is experiencing a new wave of consumer excitement. During visits, it was found that the old-for-new policy continues to gain traction, with smart home appliances rapidly entering households, and a clear trend of consumption upgrading. Since the beginning of this year, Guangxi has provided subsidies for the exchange of old products for new, totaling 2.061 million digital and smart products, 95,000 vehicles, and 2.553 million home appliances, amounting to a subsidy fund of 2.96 billion yuan, stimulating a sales volume of 26.7 billion yuan. Among these, the proportion of participants from counties accounts for 45.2%, and the amount of subsidies enjoyed by rural areas accounts for 37.1%, indicating that the consumption potential in villages is being rapidly unleashed. Hong Tao, director of the Institute of Business Economics at Beijing Technology and Business University, stated that the old-for-new policy is evolving into a "demand + experience" dual-driver model based on continued policy support. The national, local, and corporate levels have established a triple-subsidy linkage system that reduces the cost of household upgrades and stimulates consumer vitality while assisting the entire society in energy conservation and carbon reduction, promoting the popularization and realization of a green and low-carbon lifestyle.
