Spain reopens the Melilla border crossing with Morocco.

On August 1 local time, after being closed for about 36 hours due to the immigration crisis, the border crossing between the Spanish Autonomous City of Melilla in North Africa and Morocco has reopened. Spanish Foreign Minister Alvarez announced on the evening of July 31 that nearly all of the at least 50,000 immigrants who arrived in Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa, have now returned to Morocco, marking a significant decrease in the current wave of illegal crossings.
