Hainan has launched a Level III emergency response for red tide disasters.
According to the Hainan Provincial Oceanic Administration, in response to the recent red tide disaster that has occurred in the western sea area of Hainan Province, and in light of the latest monitoring data and disaster drift trends, the Hainan Provincial Emergency Office for Marine Disasters officially launched a Level III emergency response for the red tide disaster at 18:00 on July 31, 2026, to comprehensively prevent marine ecological risks and ensure the safety of aquaculture. This initiative will coordinate with coastal cities and counties in the west, as well as relevant provincial departments, to fully carry out monitoring and early warning, inspection and prevention, and emergency response efforts.
