A Japanese passenger plane's landing gear door malfunctioned, and it will make an emergency landing.

According to a report released by Hokkaido Air System in Japan on August 1, one of the company's aircraft, originally scheduled to fly from Okadama Airport in Sapporo to Rishiri Airport, experienced a malfunction and is currently circling in the air. The aircraft took off from Okadama Airport at 3:00 PM local time and subsequently confirmed that the right main landing gear door had become loose. Hokkaido Air System therefore decided to cancel the flight to Rishiri Airport. According to Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the flight will make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. There were reportedly 31 passengers and 3 crew members on board.
