Various places in the Yangtze River Delta are issuing marriage consumption vouchers.

In some areas of the Yangtze River Delta, newlyweds are not only receiving blessings from friends and family but may also receive an "official wedding contribution"marriage consumption vouchers. The second batch of marriage consumption vouchers in Jiangshan, Zhejiang, is set to be distributed starting August 19. Couples who register within one month from the Qixi Festival can apply for consumption vouchers worth 1,000 yuan each. Just over two months ago, on "520," the first batch of vouchers also sparked a wave of applications. Many places in the Yangtze River Delta have started trial runs. Recently, the civil affairs department of Yiwu, Zhejiang, announced an extension of the marriage consumption voucher activity, stating that newlyweds who register in the area can apply for 1,000 yuan worth of government-subsidized vouchers until the end of October 2026. The local marriage consumption voucher distribution started in mid-October 2025, marking its second extension. Each couple that registers for marriage can receive 10 "200 yuan off 100 yuan" discount vouchers, which can be used for wedding celebrations, wedding photography, leisure travel, hotel stays, wedding cultural products, retail, dining, and other expenditures, with a validity of 30 days after collection. According to the Yiwu Marriage Registration Center, by the end of June 2026, 3,161 couples had collected consumption vouchers.
