FIFA abandons the plan to sell a portion of the World Cup shares, AFC President speaks out.

According to a report from AFP, AFC President Salman expressed his "welcome" in a statement on August 1 regarding FIFA's decision to "withdraw" a business plan and abandon the continuation of "selling a stake in the World Cup." In the statement released on the AFC website, Salman also stated that he hopes that any future initiatives that may impact global football will be submitted for discussion to the confederations, the FIFA Council, member associations, and other stakeholders in a timely, transparent, and meaningful manner.
