Wang Yi: Appreciates Indonesia's reaffirmation of welcoming Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate in Indonesia.
On July 18th, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Indonesian Minister of Economic Coordination Airlangga Hartarto, who was in Shanghai to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Wang Yi emphasized that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, in recent years, positive progress has been made in the construction of the China-Indonesia community of shared future. China and Indonesia, as representatives of the global South and emerging economies, have similar development goals, broad common interests, and obvious complementary advantages. The two sides should strengthen the alignment of development strategies, move in the same direction, actively interact, eliminate disturbances, maintain determination, continuously deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and serve as a model of unity and mutual assistance for the global South. China appreciates Minister Hartarto's reaffirmation of welcoming Chinese enterprises to invest in Indonesia, and hopes that Indonesia will provide a fair and just business environment for this purpose. China-Indonesia cooperation is not directed against any third party and should not be subject to third-party interference. Both sides should take the lead in defending the multilateral trading system, jointly oppose "decoupling," and safeguard the security and stability of global supply chains. China is willing to closely cooperate with Indonesia in international and regional affairs, promote the construction of a China-Indonesia community of shared future with regional and global influence, and contribute to the common development of both countries and humanity.
