According to Politico, France and Germany announced on Friday that they will study and develop a military software alternative controlled autonomously by Europe to replace the software provided by the American company Palantir. France's domestic intelligence agency announced in June that it would terminate its contract with Palantir, and Germany's intelligence agency also chose France's alternative solution, ChapsVision. Following a meeting between French President Macron and German Chancellor Merkel, the two countries stated in a joint declaration on Friday, "In order to promote data sovereignty, France and Germany will study the development of European autonomous digital infrastructure and consider the capabilities of both countries in data-centric security, artificial intelligence, and cloud solutions." The statement mentioned France's Arcadia project as an example and also referenced a "similar solution in Germany."
