Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said on July 17 that Venezuela has withdrawn $346 million from its reserve position at the International Monetary Fund for use in rebuilding areas affected by earthquakes. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva confirmed on social media that the funds had been disbursed, stating that the IMF is collaborating with relevant stakeholders to help Venezuela tap into its own resources within the organization to meet urgent humanitarian needs. Georgieva noted that the funds were taken from Venezuela's reserve position.
