Ikea plans to sell 8 shopping centers.
IKEA China is currently focusing on selling idle stores in eight cities. Chang'an Street Informant learned from the commercial real estate investment management firm Cushman & Wakefield that the agency has obtained an exclusive sales commission from IKEA's parent company Ingka Group to sell all idle properties owned by IKEA in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Harbin, Nantong, Xuzhou, Guiyang, and Ningbo. This is the largest scale of centralized disposal of self-owned assets by IKEA in the Chinese market in nearly 30 years, reflecting the comprehensive strategic restructuring of the home retail giant in the Chinese market. According to Cushman & Wakefield, the eight properties being put on the market are all self-owned properties of Ingka China, and these properties have been fully vacated, with no lease restrictions, and can be delivered immediately.
